MacherSchaft is a non-profit and tax-exempt association. Its purpose is essentially to create the conditions for the realisation of craft ideas. To this end, MacherSchaft operates workshops and studios at various locations in Basel.In the public workshops & studios of MacherSchaft, craft and creative ideas can be implemented independently, as the necessary infrastructure as well as a broad network and diverse know-how are available. MacherSchaft provides machines, knowledge and materials at low cost and creates a platform for the exchange of craft and creativity. The idea behind this is that members can exchange ideas on the one hand, and on the other hand no longer need to purchase all machines and equipment themselves. This enables affordable access to craftsmanship and own projects can be developed and realised together or individually.

As a member, patron or user of MacherSchaft, you can use all workshops for your private projects during opening hours. Commercial use (production of objects intended for sale) is not permitted within the membership framework; a separate agreement is required for this.
MitgliedSchaft: CHF 240.– / year
Members can use the various workshops throughout the year during regular opening hours for private projects. They pay an annual fee of CHF 240.– and only need to pay for their consumable materials.NutzerSchaft: CHF 60.– / year (+ CHF 4.– / hour)
Users can also use the workshop throughout the year during regular opening hours for private projects. In addition to the lower annual fee, they also pay an hourly fee of CHF 4.– as well as their consumable materials.GönnerSchaft: CHF 240.– / year (amount freely selectable)
Patrons wish to financially support the non-profit project of MacherSchaft and pay a freely selectable annual amount above CHF 240.–. They are automatically also members and can therefore use all workshops without an additional hourly fee.SpendenSchaft: (amount freely selectable)
